Born in Grand Rapids Minnesota.
Moved to Montana at the age of four.
Lived in Missoula, Montana from 1948 to 1967.
» Attended elementary school and high school in Missoula.
» Attended the University of Montana from 1962 to 1967.
Lived in Seeley Lake, Montana from 1967 to present.
» Moved to Seeley Lake, Montana in 1967and began working in the family business: Pyramid Mountain Lumber.
» Vice-President and Director of Pyramid Mountain Lumber from 1970 to 2001.
» Manager of Sales from 1984 to 2001.
» Sold interest in Pyramid Mountain Lumber in May, 2001.
Elected to Montana’s Public Service Commission November, 2004:
» Took oath of office January 2, 2005.
» Term of office 2005-2009.
Elected to Montana’s House of Representatives in 1996:
» Served four terms in the House.
» Member of the State Administration Committee and the Natural Resource Committee in 1997 to 2001.
» Member of the Montana environmental Quality Council for four years - 1999 - 2003
» Elected as the Speaker pro Tempore in 1999 and 2001.
» Elected as the Speaker of the House in 2003.
